Kitchen remodels

We remodel kitchens — cabinets, islands, backsplash, and range hoods — from a full kitchen with white shaker cabinets and a butcher-block island to smaller jobs like swapping an old over-range microwave for a new range hood. Recent kitchen work shown here includes a job in the Sandy area.

Questions people ask about kitchen remodels

Does a small job need a written contract?

Oregon's Construction Contractors Board says construction agreements for more than $2,000 have to be in writing. Below that it isn't required, but it's still worth getting the scope and the price written down so nobody is working from memory.

What if you find hidden damage once the work starts?

Hidden damage is exactly the situation change orders exist for. Ask to see the condition before it's covered back up, get the added scope and cost in writing, and then decide.

“I have had some bad luck with contractors with shoddy work, but not with AMA. … Anthony is a perfectionist. He uses all the correct tools, parts and methods to make sure everything is perfect. He cleans up and vacuums every day too, so everything is tidy. I now have a kitchen that is better than it was on the day it was built in 1961.”

— Rudie W., kitchen remodel, via Facebook

“Anthony and his team have a high attention to details. Information was provided in a timely manner, even when it was news he knew I did not want to hear. We are please with the job they did and it is holding up very well over time. If you want straight answers and the job done right, AMA is the team.”

“Anthony is a great communicator and gives it to you straight. He is fair and does great work.”
